August 16, 2024Legal Officers from the Fiji Law Reform Commission led by Director, Ms. Raijeli Tuivaga, made a courtesy visit this morning meeting with Ministry Executives, Hon. Lynda Tabuya, Hon. Sashi Kiran, Permanent Secretary Ms. Eseta Nadakuitavuki and Director Children, Ms. Arieta Tagivetaua.
Director for the Commission, Ms. Raijeli Tuivaga, briefed the Ministry Executives on their role, sharing that the statutory body stood ready to assist the Ministry in terms of reviewing Ministry policies and the importance of data-supported legislations.
Hon. Tabuya expressed the Ministry’s appreciation for the Commission’s efforts and emphasized the significance of collaboration in advancing legal reforms that benefit women, children, the elderly, persons living with disabilities and vulnerable populations in Fiji.
Furthermore, Minister Tabuya stated that the Ministry looked forward to continued engagement with the Commission to address key legal issues and promote a more just and equitable society.
